Although the market for scanners is decreasing rapidly, there is still a demand for scanners and scan solutions. The design of modern consumer scanners has become stylish with small dimensions. A strategy of the manufacturer to claim that last bit of space from of today’s consumer desk. The thing is, if you do not have a scanner you often don’t miss it at all and if a scan is needed you just pick your digital camera and make one. Those of the consumer who actually own a scanner are often glad they have one at home. It gives them freedom to create new photo books filled up with scans of ‘old’ printed photos or even slides left alone in an old box. Home office scanners and professional scanners are still being used but suffer also by a loss of growth in sales numbers. The World of Imaging event Photokina 2010 will showcase the latest scanners.
